Hello Games announced the ‘No Man’s Sky: Leviathan’ update with a unique, community-focused gameplay mechanic. Hello Games has released nearly 20 major updates to No Man’s Sky since its debut in 2016, and each update brings more impressive elements to the ever-expanding world of No Man’s Sky. The Leviathan update brings ‘Roguelike’ gameplay to the title, which is to say that players will gain access to a new game mode where a single death resets their progress as they try and make it further each time they enter the “loop.”
Leviathan will be a community-focused Roguelike, though, as each player on the game will work together to uncover the mystery of the loop. As players continue to progress as far as they can, die, and reset, more information will be revealed to the entire community. At the end of the Leviathan event, when players finally emerge victoriously, they will receive the Leviathan itself, a giant alien creature that serves as a living Frigate-class airship.
