Qualcomm today introduced its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform that promises 10% improvements in CPU and GPU performance and 30% improvements in power efficiency. It also confirmed that several OEMs including ASUS ROG, Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, OSOM, realme, RedMagic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE.
ASUS ROG confirmed that the ROG Phone 6 will be the first gaming phone to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that the company’s next flagship will be one of the first phones to be powered by the chip. This should be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

In China, realme confirmed that it will introduce the realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform. Last year’s realme GT Master Explorer Edition is powered by Snapdragon 870. OnePlus, motorola, nubia and iQOO have also confirmed to launch new phones with the chip.
As expected, OPPO has announced that it will be the first company to launch Snapdragon 7 Gen 1-powered Reno8 Pro smartphone on May 23rd. HONOR should launch the HONOR 70 with the chip later this month. Redmi will also launch a phone with the mid-range Snapdragon SoC.
