Nightclub-Derived Wood Guitars – These Guitars Use Wood From Toronto’s Iconic ‘El Mocambo’ Venue (TrendHunter.com)

Iconic American guitar maker Fender has launched a gorgeous pair of limited-edition wood guitars that make use of wood reclaimed from El Mocambo, the iconic nightclub and concert venue in Toronto.

The ‘Custom Shop El Mocambo’ guitars comprise a Fender Stratocaster and a Fender Telecaster, each of which has a body constructed out of white pine sourced from the club’s rafters and flooring following its renovation some years ago.

Designed by Torontonian and Fender Custom Shop master builder Ron Thorn, these striking wood guitars have Canadian maple necks, and a palm motif that is a clear nod to El Mocambo’s signage and logo.

Available as a pair for $25,000, these wood guitars are a fine example of the utility of reclaimed wood in being able to infuse nostalgia and meaning into limited-edition guitars without compromising on their quality.
