Reddit has released a new update that makes it easier for users to search Reddit for specific content. Previously, searching Reddit was restrictive in the sense that it prioritized posts, subreddits followed by the user, and various other metrics outside of the user’s control. With this updated search feature, it will be a more streamlined experience to find the desired content.
This search feature allows users to search not only posts, but comments as well. This helps users gauge the responses to a topic through comment polling. In order to combat botting and automatic spam messages, the search will still be primarily sorted by relevance rather than direct wording. This helps the community determine which posts are trending, are new, and have a high level of discussion. Additionally, searching keywords in comments helps people find specific opinions on a trending subject.
