McDonald’s unveiled the ‘McDelivery Detector,’ a customized smoke detector designed in collaboration with ‘TBWA\NEBOKO’ in the Netherlands. The McDelivery Detector is designed for McDonald’s fans who love home cooking, but sometimes make mistakes that leave their dinner ruined. The McDelivery Detector works like a traditional smoke detector by alerting the house of a potential fire. However, in addition to this functionality, the McDelivery Detector will also immediately place a delivery order for McDonald’s when a fire is detected.
This feature is meant to save home chefs from going hungry. If someone burns their food and the smoke is detected by the McDelivery, a made-to-order McDonald’s meal will arrive at the door in a matter of minutes to save the night. As for the design of the device, the smoke detector resembles a large upside-down ‘Big Mac’ sandwich with a realistic textured finish.
