Amazon Prime Video has launched Prime Video Mobile Edition, a new single-user, mobile-only plan at an introductory price of Rs. 89 per month first time in India. The plan provides SD quality streaming through the Prime Video app on Android or iOS, which the company says is created especially for a mobile-first country like India. This competes with Netflix that launched its mobile plan for India at ₹199 per month back in 2019.
Prime Video has partnered with Airtel to roll out the plan. Airtel customers on bundled pre-paid packs can avail a 30-day free trial by signing up to Amazon from the Airtel Thanks app using their mobile number. After the 30 day-free trial, Airtel customers can use Prime Video Mobile Edition through pre-paid recharges starting at an introductory price of Rs. 89 that offers 28-days of Prime Video Mobile Edition along with 6GB data.
It also comes bundled with most other pre-paid plans that start from Rs. 129. Airtel has been offering plans with bundled Amazon Prime Video subscription as a part of Airtel Thanks program. Amazon Customers can purchase these pre-paid packs on the Airtel Thanks app or at Airtel stores across India.
