Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro MIUI Software Update Tracker [Update: MIUI 12.0.4.0 with new camera filters, October security patch]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India back in February running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). The smartphone has already started receiving Android 10 based MIUI 12 update in India.

MIUI 12 brings all-new design and animations along with new features such as Super Wallpapers, Floating Window, New Control Center, Enhanced Privacy Protection features such as Interceptor, Flare, Hidden Mask Mode and more to the devices, check out this post to learn more about MIUI 12 features.

Xiaomi doesn’t follow any fixed update frequency for the MIUI Global Stable ROM but on average, the Global Stable ROM is updated once in a month. This post will help our readers in keeping track of MIUI updates for Redmi Note 7 Pro (codename ‘violet’), also check out our Redmi Note 7 Pro content,

  • [Dec 1, 2020]: Xiaomi finally started rolling out  MIUI 12.0.4.0.QFHINXM update that adds Gold vibes and Lime camera filters and camera optimizations. The update weighs around 346MB in size and brings October Android security patch. [Download Link]
  • [Sep 19, 2020]: Xiaomi has finally started rolling out Android 10 based MIUI 12 stable update in India. The update comes with version MIUI 12.0.1.0.QFHINXM, weighs around 423MB in size and brings August Android security patch.   • [Jul 28, 2020]: Xiaomi has finally started rolling out Android 10 based MIUI 12 for selected Pilot testers in India.   • [July 17, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.12.0.PFHINXM update with July security patch. Xiaomi also says that the update fixes video recording frame drops.   • [July 4, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.10.0.PFHINXM stable update. The update is 238 MBs in size, has minor fixes and includes Android security patch for June 2019. [Download Link]
  • [June 12, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.9.0.PFHINXM stable update. The update is 505 MBs in size, adds Mi Credit app, brings new left and center alignment options for lockcscreen clock, system performance optimizations and improved system security and stability, but it still has May security patch.   • [May 30, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.7.0.PFHINXM stable update with May security patch. The update weighs 237 MBs in size and brings several features including system-wide Dark Mode with toggle and new charging animation. [Download Link]
  • [May 20, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.3.5.0.PFHINXM with April security patch, the update weighs around 645 MBs in size and brings several features including Face unlock for App Lock, along with several bug fixes and optimizations to the smartphone. [Download Link]
  • [April 29, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out a minor MIUI 10.2.10.0.PFGINXM 285 MBs update. According to the changelog, this fixes noises in the speaker, but it also brings Fortnite support, however it still has Android security patch for March 2019.  [Download Link]
  • [April 12, 2019]: Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 10.2.8.0.PFGINXM with March security patch for the device to improve camera performance and fix the screen brightness issue.
  • [March 26, 2019]: Xiaomi releases Android 9.0 (Pie) based kernel source codes for Redmi Note 7 Pro.
  • [March 22, 2019]: Xiaomi pushed MIUI 10.2.7.0.PFGINXM with February security patch for the device to improve system stability.
  • [March 18, 2019]: Xiaomi announces Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI 10 Global Beta testing for Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Note that Xiaomi follows staged roll-out, so the updates are randomly pushed to a limited number of users and a broader roll-out usually takes a few days after the company makes sure there are no critical bugs.
